Pedalglobe · Roadmap
What’s next
Pedalglobe keeps evolving. Here is what we are working on after the launch, in the order we plan, without dates.
The next steps
Now · 1.0
The launch
- Planning with bike routing on your device, elevation profile and surfaces, variants
- Climate per day and the best departure window
- Countries and visas with source and check date
- Navigation with voice guidance, day by day through your stages, recording with plan vs. actual
- Offline maps and routing per country, 3D flight
- Sharing as an image, logbook with photos and PDF, tour file, following along and riding along through iCloud
- iPhone, iPad and Mac, seven languages, sync through iCloud
Next · 1.0.x
Maintenance after the launch
- Country data checked every month, more entry rules, more passports and destination regions
- Aerial photos in the 3D flight per country, large countries such as the USA, Canada, Russia and China in regions
- French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Polish texts reviewed by native speakers
- Bugs you report through TestFlight or the App Store come first
After that · 1.1
Your places and safe data
- Places as favourites: save home, work, your favourite café or campsite with your own symbol and name, find them again on the map and in search, add them as a waypoint with one tap
- Places per route and trip, such as accommodation and meeting points. Private places never appear in shared images or tour files
- Nothing gets lost: restore earlier versions of every route and trip, automatic backup to iCloud Drive or “Files”
After that · 1.2, with Pro
Planning together
- Planning a trip together: several people plan the same route or trip, waypoints, days and accommodation, and see who changed what
- Riding together: shared logbook entries with photos from everyone riding along
Later
Planned, with no version or date yet
- Our own topographic cycling map: contour lines, hillshading and the cycle network in one map
- Budget per country: what a trip costs, by country and day
- Packing list from the climate: what to pack, based on the temperature, rain and elevation of your trip
- “Download for the road” in one step: map, routing and elevation of a route or trip downloaded together
- Travel blog export: logbook, photos and track as a page or file for your own blog
