Pedalglobe in Easy Read

On this page we explain Pedalglobe.

We use easy words and short sentences.

The other pages are harder to read.

What is Pedalglobe?

Pedalglobe is an app.

App means:

A program for your phone, your tablet or your computer.

With Pedalglobe you plan bike tours.

There are 2 important words in the app:

Route means:

A way you ride with your bike.

For example a ride after work.

Trip means:

Many routes one after the other.

For example a trip for many weeks through many countries.

Which devices does Pedalglobe work on?

Pedalglobe works on these devices from the company Apple:

The iPhone and the iPad have software from Apple.

The software is called iOS and iPadOS.

Pedalglobe needs version 26.1 of this software or newer.

On the Mac, Pedalglobe needs a chip from Apple.

The chip is the most important part of the computer.

Pedalglobe is in 7 languages:

What can Pedalglobe do?

Plan a route

You choose where you start and where you want to go.

Pedalglobe then finds a good route for your bike.

For example on bike paths and on quiet roads.

You see how long the route is.

And you see where the road goes up and where it goes down.

Pedalglobe makes the route on your device.

So this also works without internet.

For this you first load the data for a country onto your device.

Ride your bike

When you ride, Pedalglobe shows you the route.

A voice tells you for example: “Turn right soon.”

Pedalglobe also saves where you rode.

So later you can see your ride on the map.

Find the best time for a trip

Pedalglobe shows you the climate.

Climate means:

What the weather in a place is usually like.

For example: How warm is it in May? How often does it rain in May?

The climate does not tell you the weather on one day.

It shows you what the weather was like over many years.

This helps you to plan.

For example Pedalglobe shows you the best week to start your trip.

Travel to other countries

Maybe your trip goes to other countries.

Every country has rules for people who come in.

For example: Do you need a visa?

Visa means:

A permission from a country.

With this permission you can travel into the country.

Pedalglobe shows you the rules for the countries on your trip.

The rules depend on your passport.

Pedalglobe knows the rules for many passports.

For example for passports from all countries of the EU.

For some passports there are no rules in the app yet.

Important: The rules can change.

And the app can be wrong.

Only the government of a country can say for sure what the rules are.

So also read the rules on the government websites of the country.

Do this before your trip.

You find the links to these websites in the app.

Maps without internet

You can load maps onto your device.

Then you see the map also without internet.

This helps you for example in the mountains or in other countries.

For pictures from satellites you always need internet.

What does Pedalglobe cost?

You can use Pedalglobe for free.

With this you can already do almost everything.

But then there are these 2 important differences:

For more there is Pedalglobe Pro.

Pedalglobe Pro costs 29.99 euros.

You pay only 1 time.

After that you do not pay anything more.

With Pedalglobe Pro you can plan many trips.

And the routes can be as long as you want.

Where do you get Pedalglobe?

Pedalglobe will soon be in the App Store.

In the App Store from Apple you get apps for your device.

You can already try Pedalglobe now.

This works on the iPhone and on the iPad.

For this you need the app TestFlight.

TestFlight is an app from Apple.

With TestFlight you can try new apps.

Try Pedalglobe with TestFlight here.

What happens to your data?

Data is for example: your routes, your trips and where you are.

You do not need an account for Pedalglobe.

This means: You do not have to sign in with a name and a password.

Your routes and trips are on your device.

We do not receive your routes and trips.

Are you signed in to iCloud on your device?

Then Pedalglobe also saves your routes and trips in your iCloud.

You can turn this off in the app.

iCloud means:

A storage on the internet from the company Apple.

Your storage in iCloud belongs to you.

We cannot see this data.

Pedalglobe loads the map from the internet.

The map services then see: You are looking at this part of the map.

Do you search for an address?

Then Pedalglobe sends your search to Apple.

It also sends the area where you are, but not exactly.

Everything about your data is in the privacy policy.

The privacy policy is hard to read.
